My buddy's 2008? yamaha 9.9 runs on 100:1. He says leaner the meaner lol, I won't go on big lakes with him. I run my 1980 evinrude 9.9 at 40.1 amsoil. I would be asking manufacturer if I was using a new engine.

Amsoil marine oil is 50 to 1.
I think you're right but I still mix it at 50:1 for my small engines. Plus I use Sea Foam in everything
