Sorry but I disagree. They are saying to wear masks because it it safer for everyone to do so. How do you argue with 'safer'? Even if it's, 'only a little bit', safer.

When did the focus shift from "flattening the curve" and "slowing the spread" to, "let's attempt to eradicate COVID-19 from existence"? It's not going to happen.

The goal was always to get to a manageable infection rate, which is where we're at now. Lots of hospital beds available, lots of bored front line workers waiting for something to do, why mandate masks now? Aside from giving people the impression that "something is being done to protect the public", masks aren't going to do much else.

Fisher, consider the same politicians telling us to wear masks to keep us safer are the same politicians telling us back in January theres nothing to worry about and actually joking about the virus. If you believe everything a politician tells you, your being foolishly manipulated to be given a false sense of security....Kinda reminds me of the governments gun ban to make us all more safe, doesn't seem to be working out so well....

I think the efforts to social distance did their job. If wearing masks reduces the numbers even lower, why not do it. As for wearing underwear as a mask, hopefully it will not catch on. we could end up with a shortage of toilet paper and underwear. not a pleasant thought.

I don't disagree there's a potential for safety, yet it's all based on opinion not data that I've seen. So I guess I'm more in the "why now?" Group since the numbers seem to show we were doing just fine with the current guidelines.

Maybe we will see some exceptional difference made, but until then I won't likely change my mind.

It should be a great topic for debate over the next few weeks if nothing else.

Don’t wear one and will not unless mandatory in my area. Then only when necessary. I never stoped working. Don’t know anyone who got sick. Don’t know anyone who knows anyone that got sick. Seems like almost all that get sick recover. It seems to me that the world forgot that everyone dies one day.

Some people do not like to be told what to do, even if it is for their own and everyone else's benefit. Think toddlers.

Typical liberal response. Resort to name calling when someone has different opinion.
