Always amazes me how people get sucked into the Marketing and buy food (ie: like Blue Mountain) thinking they're doing so better for their dog becasue they are feeding them expensive food.

I think most dogs get fed too good. The number one health issue for dogs, by far, is obesity and related consequences. I rate dog food lower on the list in influencing top performance outcomes. First would be the amount and quality of training in the field. Second would be mental and physical health, yes feed can be a part of that, but I mean free from parasites, injury, and stimulated. Then I consider the individual dog regarding amount and type of food.

I checked the labeling on what I feed it has several types of grains. My hounds seem to live long, happy, healthy, lives. I don't feel horrible at all. I don't think grain is bad, just another food group.

A disclaimer, I keep beagles they supplement their own diets with anything you can imagine. For example, years ago I had a little male that specialized in digging up and eating white grubs, he had a good enough nose to pin point them 4 to 6 inches below ground. Some other anecdotes are pretty disgusting.

You probably be surprised that the same grains are ground up to make your Tim Horton's Donut/ Muffin you eat every morning ..HaHa..

As long as it has the 'Recommended by Veterinarian' label ...it's good to go

Did I mention any brand? I’m not buying into any brand or pushing any brand. I read ingredients.

It’s a known fact with everything. Cheap gives you low quality. It’s not rocket science.

Paying a lot (Not cheap) for food does NOT guarantee your dog won't get sick..

anecdotal....friend insisted on buying his new puppy Blue Buffalo ..which is about $3.30/lb...which sold as the best food (ingredients) you can feed your dog. At 7 yrs old he died of intestinal tumors. Can't say if the food was the fault but it goes to show no matter how well you feed them they can get sick and die.

The prices quoted for INUKSHUK is about $2/lb for what is reviewed as a "mid range" dog food (see review below).

A 32/32 P to F ratio is pretty potent. I wouldn’t commit to buying a large qty without testing it first. I’m feeding PPP sport right now.

I fell for the grain free boutique advertising expensive stuff. Dog had loose stools. Went back to the old reliable PPP sport 20/30 and everything is great again. Great health, excellent coat and hunts hard all day.
