    Default Bronte July 13 AM

Launched from Fisherman's Pier and on the water with lines down by 6:45am just a few km west of Shell's Pier in 120fow.... Got fish right away... We went 8 for 12 with two double headers.....
I tell you, double headers with experienced guys can be tough but just imagine with an inexperience youngster all excited (my nephew).....
In one of the double headers...... One rod goes off, let him grab it, he starts fighting it and then the other rod goes off, I grab that one.....We manage to net his fish (7lbs) first...... Mine is still hugging bottom, big fish..... we bring in the other rods, downriggers up but it seems, rods were all over the place, lures tangled into the net, his fish flopping around, rods tangled together, fleas clogging up the rod eyes, oh what a mess....... Finally managed to get him next to the boat when my nephew goes to grab him or was gab him with the net, missing it, tangling the lure/the fish and then we losing him right by the boat, oh so sad
It must have been 30lbs, a big fish......It was insane/crazy for a few minutes but fun nevertheless.....
We got most of our fish on blueish spoons between 35 and 60 ft down.... the big one hit a spin doctor and fly combo 60' down.....The lake started to give us a little chop so we called it early.... All in all, a good day..... We even kept a few small ones for the BBQ.....
I got to say, it was fun

Ya them big'ins add thrill to the day. Always have a bit of a let down when I toss 'em back. For me a few 'que fish always make it a good outing.
Back to work now so next window will be hopefully friday off ashbridges or bluffs.
