    Default Blew a wheel

Finn blew a wheel while training last night. She went full bore into the water for a medium mark and caught a toe on something. Had her to the vet today to check on her swollen paw and there is no break thank God. Just taking our time with an anti inflammatory and antibiotic. We'll be back at it soon enough.

Best of luck to Finn for a quick & full recovery! It's a terrible feeling (for us) when they injure themselves, no matter how small of an injury.

It's always something with a dog it seems to me. Mine jumped out of bed , hit the dresser and now has a huge haemotoma on his head. Trust your dog has a good recovery.

Keeping an active dog quiet is such a challenge. Leash walks will be the best way to ensure she doesn't make it worse. Fingers crossed for a healthy recovery.

Started in the water again on Sunday for low impact and Finn is going strong. Running the Y drill at 100 yards. Water marks with diversions on her return and doubles out to 50 yards. Tonight we had another dog walker wander into the field while she was returning from a long Y drill mark and she kept her focus. Feeling like the plan is coming together.

It always happens. We work our dogs, and them...they often injure themselves when least convenient.

My Lab? Lots of game farm hunts leading up to Fall, then early Sept developed a sore on her eye, which the vet then said "no" to hard exercise, and water.

Next year, caught a pad on something sharp...and had to sit out the opener....
