I just bought a new pair of these. My old boots finally wore out. These are "old school" but,they really are the best bang for the buck,IMO.

I buy the cheapest I can find ,they all last about 2 seasons.
This year cdn tire has some on sale $29.99 .
bought them and they will do for the next two seasons.
Call me cheap but I have purchased expensive boot in the past and did not find them any better.

In fact, I think it depends on the structure of your foot, your terrain and the weight of your backpack. I became a fan of the Irish Setter https://voy-voy.com/best-hunting-boots/. They are 30 cm high and great traction on any terrain, be it snow, mud, rocks, etc. and are waterproof.

Light weight, great fit around heels, and instep but the exterior "leather" "V" rising tears away far too easily, poor design causing continuous water issues even in dew. Not waterproof, but water resistant. Last me about six months, as I wear them daily. Not worth the dollars. Went back to Danners...
