Mixed results for early goose
We hunted a field where we have seen birds for the last week but nothing came close. So today three of us hunted the pond that is 60 yards from my house in the country. The guys showed up at 6:30 and we walked over to the cedars where I had my panel blind set up. Geese flying around most of the morning but wouldn’t commit. One single in particular would circle around calling but would not commit.( more about that one later!) Finally around 9:30 a pair started calling , did one circuit and then just dropped into the pond. Within the hour that single finally came into the pond and I shot it.
I did manage to shoot a couple of short videos. A nice relaxing hunt.

It's really nice to get out don't you agree? It's been a long year waiting. I'm glad you got a meal out of it. Nice spot you have there.

I agree. It’s nice to get out and enjoy the company of hunting friends. None of us care if we shoot limits.

Not a bad way to start off the season.
