Lets see them!! We all have them. Lets see that spot that gets you excited every time you're in it.
This spot here is on the edge of bedding and thick cover. They cruise along that tree edge and graze in the grass out front. They move first light in the morning through here left to right and then early afternoon right to left. On the left about 50 yards away is a field edge that has fence up and they will cruise along the edge of that as well.
My spot is on an approximately 40-50 acre bush, since it is narrow I can block off all the main trails from this spot and at the very least see if any deer are moving that day. It's about 16ft up a tree on a tall bank about just as high, giving me about a 30ft elevation infront of me. I thought my spot was a bit too visible at first but I've been able to fire and reload my crossbow without deer on the other side of the river bank paying any attention. The opposite river bank is approx 70 yards.

Here is the rear, the main trail on this side is 40 yards behind that large forked tree. The shooting lane is to the left of that tree. It's a bit to the rear but it gives me enough clearance from the tree and It's off my left so it's still comfortable to shoot. I've taken three deer off that trail. Screenshot_20200904-034841.jpg
I use a self climber for this spot, and I've taken most of my deer last season off this spot. I took a couple in the early season on another spot behind that tree to the rear, the photo below is that spot. The forked tree is off frame to the right of this photo. 20191103_155121.jpg
Will definitely plan on hunting this spot this season, there are a couple other bushes showing as much promise but this will be my primary spot considering all goes well. I've been seeing deer around this bush all year so far so my hopes are up haha.

Looking at all these pixs gets the blood pumpin'. I spent about 3 hours the other day with my brush cutter and chainsaw cleaning up a few spots. Got my cams up and apples n corn out . Now we wait....
Of all these spots only the first pic is one that's still available to me. The others were spots I've been fortunate enough to have permission the hunt while the landowner still owned the property.
I missed a coyote while deer hunting just past the stone fence in the bottom pic. About 190 yards to the fence.

Definitely! I find hunting down south with a crossbow to be MUCH easier than rifle hunting up north. With these small bushes scattered it's easier to funnel deer, plus they're more conditioned to human activity. I have huge respect for guys that go up north to freeze their butts off to most likely not see anything. I'm loving all these winter scenery pics! Sometimes it's therapeutic just to sit there (if you have warm clothes).
