Fall bear success, show me your bear hunts!

Don't let the pic fool you, this is only a 110lbs sow, but that didn't stop me from enjoying my favourite meat! This was my second trip up for the fall bear hunt (4 days at a time) first time was unsuccessful, nothing but racoons but I baited this spot when I left. This WMU opened after labour day so I hunted this old spot. Had 4 bears on the bait, three about this size and my target bear. Passed on smaller bears on 2 sits but decided to take this sow on the last day. 15 yards heart shot. While we were packing this bear out one of the others showed up as well, luckily he buggered off quickly without trouble.
Our target bear is one my dad has been hunting for 6 years now. He hasn't shown up during legal time until now and he is MUCH bigger since we last saw him. Hoping to head back at the end of the month for another go at him.

Here is what he looked like 6 years ago, he hasn't been staying off the sweets looks like it.

My bait has been getting hit but 90% of the time by a sow with 2 cubs. Was hunting 2 nights ago Had a moose about 100 yards away in the swamp grunting. I cow called and he came right to me. I could have jumped out of my stand onto his back. Stayed for over 10 min looking for a horny cow. Was pretty exciting but with him standing right next to the ladder for my stand I started to hope he wouldn’t turn and take out my stand with me in it ADD1BE14-09FD-4A8E-B937-F66B5AA8BB46.jpeg

Cool pick for sure. They’re moving for sure, seen all kinds of fresh tracks this week. One big bull woofed at me and my dog three times. Seen the huge track later.
