    Default Black Bear Hunt

Heading up on Friday for a week of black bear hunting at Burks Falls. We have been making the 6 hour drive baiting for the last few weeks and have some good bears on the trail cams and empty barrels when we arrive at the sites. The weather looks good, cool nights and barely breaking low 20'sC day temps. I will post how the trip went good or bad.

Good Luck. I’m hoping to hunt them a few days while scouting for Moose signs.

Good luck. Just got back in. Been out for the last 2 days. Passed on 4 so far all about 150 to 200 lbs. Got until Friday to get the big guy. Otherwise one of those average guys is going in the freezer.

We ended up with two bears for the week. Nothing big but nice eaters. All of our barrels shut down by mid week with only raccoons and chipmonks on the cameras. There was still a good stand of berries in certain areas of the bush.
Lots of excellent shore lunches and suppers, we mostly eat wild game at all of our hunts.

Excellent. I'll take a smaller bear any day and pass on the brutes!!!

Easier to deal with when they are on the ground and the meat can't be beat!!
