So group 9 Jake’s 1 small Tom 3” beard this group fight a lot chase pecking each other
Group 6 big toms 5 now one down
Group of 15 hens and small this year birds

Yes they generally flock up in same sex groups with the exception maybe of this year's Jakes hanging with Mom. TC

It's still early, they will group up for the winter once the snow flies. I'm seeing the same thing now, small pockets of turkeys in fields etc.
You're right about their 'routine'...once you get that figured out, set up for ambush and sit and wait. Minimal calling, just purrs for the most part.
With rainy days a ahead, I'll have more time available to sit in the pop-up. Love late fall hunting.

The Jake’s are fun to watch walk around in a line all of a sudden one Jake jump flies and start fighting with another one
all the other Jake’s run up forming semi circle around the two to watch the fight

A couple years back I had a Tom and a couple Jakes respond to my calls...all is well just waiting for them to come into range...then another Tom comes in from behind me and well all heck broke lose. Jumping Toms and feathers flying. One of the best hunts I ever had didn't even come home with one. HaHa,,
