Doesn't fit any native fish species I don't think.
I'm guessing grown up baitfish, somebody dumped their minnow bucket last winter.

Yeh your's does not appear to have that top fine but I thought it could be sitting flat,close as I could come to what you got.
That baitfish booklet is generally available at the MNR office's.

yup log perch. catch them all the time when jigging the detroit river they get snagged and then used as bait!

Log perch usually have more and thinner bars on their sides looks more like a banded killifish.
