Thanks for the comments , he is the owner of the camp there were only the 2 of us in the camp. .I hunted deer with him for years and no problem.
There would be no evidence ,since I could not give an accurate location on the road which is a logging road.
I'm 73 years old and not in a position to start a fist fight with a 35 year old , who is larger and more fit then myself.
I will discuss this with a CO in my area and I'm sure he will give me the best advice.
Believe it or not we broke camp on opening day of Moose hunt and drove 1750 km back home and ended our relationship.

I would say that "Judge" could now take your post to law enforcement and file a complaint.. Based on your own words you have just suggested that he can expect any and everything from beatings, to financial problems and even death.

Do you think the judge in the Jeffery Epstien case had any idea of what was coming? Maybe the OP was being given a heads up as to what can happen to people who are rats. There is some real slobs out there. If that happened to me and I happened to be driving, He would be walking home with an empty rifle if I didn't wrap it around his neck already. I have zero time for Aholes like that. I'd defintely be calling the ministry first chance I got and made sure they nail that guy, Because you know if they pull off stunts like that its not their first time and won't be their last. Just puts a bad stigma out there to non hunters.

You wouldn't believe some of the stories I have heard from landowners about ignorant poachers, makes it hard for us all.

It is very simple, you call the CO and bring up what happened without leaving your information, you can do that. You will be putting them on notice that this is a person who needs to be watched, they may not get nailed for shooting a bear with a 22 but will probably get nailed for shooting from their truck at some point down the road or at minimum not getting let off for something minor later on.

Saying to not say anything due to being in by that person is like telling a witness of a robbery, sexual assault or any other major crime that people should just keep their mouth shut and not get themselves into trouble.

Fox, what you should be saying is that "knowing what is right to do" is simple. It's obvious, he should report this ... not reporting it is the same as cops covering another cop that is doing wrong things, because of friendships, or fear.

What's not simple is if the guys life gets ruined because he starts threatening his family or him ... and when there's charges on the table, people will start to do some pretty stupid things.

Road hunting isn't illegal as long as firearms are unloaded,no one shoots from the vehicle and gets 8M off the traveled portion of the road before taking a shot. It's a time-honored tradition in rural and northern Ontario when hunting varmint/predator,Deer and Moose.

i think he ment road hunting as loaded firearm in truck and or shooting from a truck but those are 2 separate charges to add to the list too.

I’m sure you did what you thought was right at the time. It doesn’t matter if the CO can charge him or not, it will be documented and will go against him next time he does something else stupid. Sucks to ruin what should of been a fun time. Take Care.
