When your part of the GTA border line anything is expected lol [emoji1787].
Was talking to my uncle not long ago, now a retired police officer . He mentioned he liked being a cop but nobody likes him "a cop" he is just another a hole of a cop to many people. He said if he had to do it again he would become a fireman because everyone loves them lol. He also mentioned the region is in a hot mess witch I can agree with him. York region has been a mess for a long time now .
It's the population growth I'm telling ya .
More people =more drugs more people = more shootings .
The meth is absolutely ridicules around hear. People smoking oxycodone because they can't sniff them like the old days. They tried to deter them from being crushed into a powder. Now they just smoke it lol. Now they have to make the pills burn proof [emoji1787]
Crazy times we are in and it's only going to get worse. York region shootings are also on the rise its not just Toronto. You can virtually get anything you want in grade 9 still it's readily available at such a young age.
Just look at the teenagers that crashed their car last week. 13 and 14 year olds driving around out joy riding ,lost control and crashed. Like really ???
This covid 19 pandemic is going to do far more damage to the community than virus it's self.

I'm in the east end of GTA and its definitely spreading out this way. Shootings and murders are on the rise here. More people is bringing more demand for drugs and the crime is following right behind.

Your probably not that far off where I am I'm on the York ,Durham boarder North East end of the GTA. .
The crime only follows the drugs ,the guns following along with the drugs it's a vicious cycle.
North Bay is becoming problematic with it all to ,the past few years. It's definitely heading north .

Not a gun problem yet but I think I read a few weeks ago that Timmins was up there as far as the opioid overdose. Lots of deaths also recently. They lost control of the downtown core, break ins, damaging property and people attacking other people if they think you looked at them wrong. I think it’s a big problem every where across Canada. And to think my parents thought I was a bad boy when they caught me smoking a joint..... and now it’s legal. What there taking now is serious stuff.

It is the fentanyl that is problem. Among with the prescription drugs, It's fairly cheap, it's in almost every household and readily available. It is hill Billy heroin .
Add a grain of fentanyl and it could be very lethal. Either way it's all from the same source from oxy , to morphine, heroin and fentanyl.
Then add the rest of the street drugs into the mix and it's a disaster.

Until we stop with a penal system that simply manages crime (criminal rehabilitation) and move to a system that deters crime (criminal punishment) this will continue.
We need to rid Canada of this hug a thug mentality

Has too much time on their hands
Let's see I posted the link about the guy that had 120 police interactions and was found with a shotgun... and others in the car with warrants etc in the Firearms section so here we will just focus on the GTA....
https://torontosun.com/news/local-ne...justice-system
“Two suspects kicked the door open and entered a Mississauga residence from the side door,” say Peel Police. “Both were masked, carrying a duffel bag and identified themselves as police.”
But this was not a police call. This was a home invasion, allegedly led by a teenage boy who was already on bail conditions.
...
“He fired four bullets through an interior door towards the victims inside,” police say.
...
The second accused is a 17-year-old boy who can’t be named under the rules. He is charged with breaking-and-entering, wearing a disguise with intent, discharging a firearm, impersonating a police officer, and three counts of breaching probation.
...
and Brampton is turning wild west...
Peel cops keep catching suspect but courts keep releasing him
The Brampton man, 23, is back in custody -- at least for now -- facing new gun charges
https://torontosun.com/news/local-ne...-releasing-him
“This arrest, involving a high-risk individual already on bail for serious firearm offences, highlights the need for our justice system participants to work together,” Chief Nishan Duraiappah said. “The police alone cannot ensure our community’s safety. We need all stakeholders to be engaged and contribute to the solutions.”
What does it take to be held in custody these days?
In September 2019, police say, “Darnel Rhooms is alleged to have robbed an Uber Driver of his vehicle” and when police arrived they claim “he pointed a firearm at a police officer before making good his escape.”
They caught him in December 2020 but he was released on bail with a GPS monitor that he later got the court to allow him to remove.
“It is certainly frustrating that the same offenders are routinely brought before the courts on very serious firearms offences, yet are given release conditions that they fail to comply with,” said Supt. Sean Gormley, of 22 Division.
..
They were not hunting guns.
“The first was a loaded .40 calibre Glock pistol,” police allege. “The second was a loaded 9 mm Glock pistol with a prohibited extended magazine. In addition, a prohibited 50-round capacity 9mm drum magazine.”
The drum magazine looks like something Al Capone’s gang would have used.
“It’s not for target practice,” said one cop.
...
Part of the trend they notice is they are dealing with members of gangs or associates again and again despite having them before the courts.

Of course become a fire fighter. Work 7 days a month (24 hr shifts) and get a solid 8 hrs of rest each shift. Why would you not want to be a fire fighter. Reminds me if a joke I heard
"why did god invent fire fighters..........so cops can have hero's too"
