Default Covid-19 precautions and deer camp/ group hunting

I just started deer hunting 5 years ago and hunt with a group who have been hunting my place and adjoins farms for years. Two thirds of the guys are Amish so we often travel together in one or two vehicles. We usually start the day with coffee and planning the days hunting at a room in a drive shed. All of this companionship is one of the main reasons that I hunt with this group. This room is also used for eating lunch and for butchering the deer on the Friday.
If all Covid-19 precautions and protocols are followed much of what we usually do cannot be done safely.
with this in mind, I am going to change the plan this year and not hunt with this group. I will be hunting with a smaller group that would hunt my place and the adjoining farm, so no travel would be required. Anyone coming to hunt my place would have to follow proper social distancing protocols. I am not concerned about what happens when we are outside, just when we are indoors. With the new group this would not be an issue.
We want to continue seeing my daughter, husband and her daughter And to keep our contact group as small as possible.

How are others dealing with this?

I have no belief that if one guy is sick all of us wont get sick in the confined quarters of our camp

But only 5 of us and very few cases currently in our local area so still a go at this point but we are all prepared for a last minute cancellation

My favourite time of year but if we take a year off to ensure we’re all safe so be it

Don’t want every year to be the anniversary of the year we lost some of our best friends

I told my guys to do a Covid check on themselves before getting in the car to come to the camp. If you are good ... come on down but if you aren't "STAY THE F@*k AT HOME !" . Mind you I only have 4 guys instead of 5 this year to contend with. My brother hunts with a gang in the December Controlled Hunt and they number between 10 to 16 guys. I'm glad I'm not in charge of that hunt.
Good Luck & Good Hunting !

Our group usually has 12 to 13 guys. Just not worth taking a chance.

John thats a really smart move.
i have no qualms with guys outside but its the camps i worry about. alot of "hunting" is just community. a great thing but i suspect alot of germs are passed around this year as in other years. plus, guys will be refusing to stay home if they are sick. I know i was sick as a dog when i shot my first deer. I was alone mind you but with how people lose their minds to get a deer to begin with, not surprising people throwing caution to the wind.

And that sort of behaviour is why there was the largest number of positive results reported for Ontario today. You can deny it all you want but it’s out there just waiting for people to stop doing what they should do.

Here is a link fir the current results for Ontario
    https://covid-19.ontario.ca/

this screenshot show the actual number of deaths, people hospitalized, in ICU and in ICU on ventilators. 3,000 people dead out of 69,000 positive results. Convince me there is no problem.
