Not much changing at our camp. Roughly 7-11 guys, all family already in each others bubbles. All camp members live in really low infection rate areas. Are we dismissing the severity of the virus ? NO Are we living in fear of the virus ? NO We all understand the risks and who is in the greatest risks group.

Stats are stats, they can be used to support either side of an eight sided argument, but I agree that the media certainly has taken this and ran with it. Is it serious ? YES Is it as serious as the media portrays it to be ? NO in the spring/early summer the Ont Govt. had a hard time getting us to 20,000 tests a day. Now we have greatly surpassed that number. Yes positive results have increased, but not at the rate that testing has increased. Majority of deaths came from elderly & LTC homes, most of which would have been just as susceptible to the Flu, Pneumonia etc as they were to COVID. Many even had DNR's on file, given that there was treatment that could have saved many, they chose not to, media didn't report that fact either.

Working in an industry that often gets reported on in the media, what I see and read is taken with a grain of salt, in essence it has become no more than politicized entertainment.

Had a deer camp meeting today. I'm the youngest at 34. Other guys are 60, 65, 72 and 75. We all live in the same small town, all from farming families. Not one word about covid was mentioned, seen some good deer sign its business as usual for us next week, Cant wait!

A vaccine. Prior to that though a huge uptick in the curve this winter that will convince skeptics that this Covid virus is much more contagious and serious than the standard flu.

I'm all for living your life as normal as possible but where possible abide by the three basic prevention measures. I don't see wearing a mask as an infringement on anybodies personal freedoms. This virus won't be gone for years so wearing a mask in many situations will become the norm.

DanO, a vaccine is a pipe dream.
Considering other parts of our country as well as other countries are not wearing masks and not having problems with community spread of the virus, why should masks be the norm.?

Hey by all means don't wear a mask and let us know what happens.

The whole point of wearing a mask is so you don't spread germs to anyone else, and get anyone else sick.

I'm not sure why everyone is going crazy because they can't go out for dinner or whatever the fact is.

I haven't wore a mask from the start, nobody was wearing masks for the first few months, the numbers never increased drastically.
So just letting you know what happened, nothing more happened with or without them.

Guys and gals - I think that this virus is easy to avoid if you follow the simple health authorities rules and make a few sacrifices which include staying away from high risk activities like bar/club hopping, wild school parties/ other large gatherings, restaurants (yes- they have the data to back up that these are high risk areas), gyms (the one in Hamilton resulted in 80 or more infections ), and the like.

If any of your group members/social bubble members fits the above high risk lifestyle, then my advice is to politely ask them to stay at home/or go by themselves or if not, you go by yourself.

There is no reason that we need to stop hunting because of this dreaded virus, but admittedly, cannot be as carefree as in the past.

To mask or not to mask ... is that really the question ?
Tis it not nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous government demands or to take up arms against a sea of naysayers.
And by opposing end them ?
To die ... to sleep............................................. ............................................... no more; and to sleep to say we end.
Good Luck & Good Hunting !

I am not going crazy because I cant go out for dinner. I'm going crazy because the government has forced my restaurant owning neighbor to spend his retirement savings on keeping his business floating when I know he is going top loose everything in the end.
