    anyone know how the heatshield brand is? i have a few things from them they dont seem that bad at all but they are just small clothes items. anyone actually bought a knife from them or scope? they had some nice scopes on sale as well!

    They fall into that category...."you get what you paid for". They are Chinese made, low grade steel. So they don't hold an edge very long.

    ah gotcha, guess my buck knife the old gerber we have and the mossy oak knife set i got my dad last Christmas will have to do.

    They are sharp slow and easy we started wearing orange gloves they show up great and the other guy can see your hands so when we gut skin a deer we can still count to ten
    Budy got clamps look like ice box tongs but have wide grip to clamp onto skin damn they work slick for pulling hide down

    Havalon blades Sharp? Oh ya be very careful with them. They will slice your finger off is your not careful!

    The ones that go on sale at Canadian Tire for $20~ arent going to be dramatically different from each other. Pick the one that you like the looks of best. I dont like serrated blades terribly much so I tend to stay away from those, particularly on small knives.

    Of my large knives, my Buck 110 is almost "heirloom" quality in its looks and function. My Gerbers are perfectly functional, but in the end are just plain black rubber handles. They arent anything special.
