I feel the same way. I mostly hunt private land relatively close to the forest, but I occasionally go to there to change things up, or when the private property isn't producing. There's no doubt that Marlborough holds a lot of deer, but the fact that they are cagey, and the number of other hunters makes it a tough place to hunt.

It sounds like a busy area.

From looking at Google maps,it looks like the Marlborough Forest is not a real large area, but,I don't see websites or geographical descriptors. How large an area is it in acres?
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

    Says it's 9300 Hector's.

A fairly large area but I guess it depends on the traffic and hunting areas. Not sure if you can hunt the entire thing or not .

There is some that is easily hunted. I avoid the easy stuff.
ALOT of swamps and cagey brush.
There is a few parcels of private land but as others have stated it is hard to find current information. There is also some VERY protective hunters in there.
To be honest the best experience I’ve had so far is been in talking with a group from Quebec. They are in there a lot and have a ton of bait sites. We exchange hunting site locations and I’ve never seen them where I hunt and I can guarantee they’ve never seen me.

That sounds a lot like The Ganaraska Forest near our place. It's about 18K acres, but, only 2/3 can be hunted. It's like a giant motorcross track all summer and fall. It's been virtually destroyed which is really sad because it was a provincial reforestation area until it was ceded to the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority in the early 90's. Really, for Deer hunting,it's useless.

I did a bit of bird hunting there one year, I never went back. Far too much traffic for my liking, especially for pay for use property.

So how did your hunt go in the Marlborough forest? Any issues? Any luck?
I only hunted there a few times so far this year, with no luck. I ran into a few other hunters and chatted with them. A youngish couple, then another youngish guy. Seemed like good people.
