That's exactly right, anything can be a contributing factor.
You're ignoring the fact that 30 + million people are simultaneously having their social network be turn upside down. It could easily contribute to disastrous results.
Historical data is all you need to compare.
I guess if there was a baby boom of tenfold from last spring, covid lockdowns would have nothing to do with that?
