In the past I've fished a place full of carp, but carp thru the ice were quite rare.
Open water produced lots.
Yeah theres definately easier fish to catch but i guess i just really like fishing carp so the effort would be worth catching one to me

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

Barry's Bay is just east of Algonquin Park. On the southern end.

I'm sure all the bigger lakes will be stiff by morning on our end, -25 in the forecast and the rain really knocked the snow down.
As woodsman said, we're 2 hours west of Ottawa

I was thinking about heading out to Eugenia to try ice fishing for carp as well, have you had any success this winter?

I was also thinking about trying there as well. Not much in there to catch through the ice.

Again carp are almost doormat during the winter. For years I fished Wildwood which was full of carp and only seen 2 brought though the ice. Expect many of hours of non productive fishing. For the ones I seen caught they were described as reeling in an old rubber boot.
If they bite relatively good and fought good, there would be a very active winter carp following.
I haven't seen it.
