small speck lakes are frozen with the cold we been having. And lots of snow in the bush. Tracks are on the ATV and it's 'go time'

FYI - just speaking to a good buddy of mine who has been out a few times already - ice on smaller lakes in the Minden area are not too bad - just need to avoid any with inflow/current areas. I also have heard that some guys have been out on sheltered bays on Rice Lake. If in doubt, drill first. I used to carry an 18v Milwaukee Drill with a huge bit extension - quick way to test ice. Test first - THEN walk out....
