Gilroy, “devil is the details”.
Go back to the spring. It wasn’t small areas that had people flooding Kew beach, bluffers park, and more. Nor is it rocket science why. Nor is it rocket science why Durham started checking people addresses a couple weeks ago. Handing out some tickets. Nor is it rocket science why PTBO were refusing GTA residents at testing centres. And on and on and on.
With respect to money.
FFS how hard is to think about the demographics that are being hurt the most in 2020?
Pampered/privelaged
Damn right they are....
Walk a mile.....
With respect to this lockdown. Province wide.
Makes sense. At least within a certain radius of the city. Too many people are going leave and or go in to the city. As I said, at least Ford waited for the bulk of the X-Mas shopping season to be done. I called x-mad eve 3-4 weeks ago.
Maybe you don’t get the economic aspects of everything. You don’t want or need for much....do you?

So you are saying that if I post on a thread that you have commented on, that I am stalking you? Talk about childish. When I see posted information that is incorrect, misleading or slanderous, I feel I must speak up for those that won't, because of your irrational responses, name calling , insults, etc. I do not think you could post without disparaging someone. If I do not agree with you, does not make me a troll. While you try to shut others down, stop their comments, if they do not agree with you. For whatever your reason, that is wrong. The more you type, the easier it is for others to see your bullying ways.

Do you view this as some type of government conspiracy, is the Covid real to you?
Do you not think the Federal Government has tried to help the citizens.
Do you not think our Provincial Government has also tried to help the citizens.
The fall out from this is Worldwide and the folk's at the bottom of the pile always come out worse. True?
I am less affected because as you say I do not want for much or need for much.
But do not think for a moment "we don't get it".

Grow up Gord.
Any one with a brain knows you were referring to me.in this one. Carrying over. You’ve done that in the past many times as well. And have specifically used my “name” in another. And let’s not forget your an admitted Troll.
And that’s just the curt, short reply albeit polite reply.
Grow the F up

Lol.
That’s quite the leap Gilroy. Half of it, not logical given I’ve defended the spending many times? Though not always all details?
Now a question for you.
I’m not the only person in this thread that’s essentially said, “rural gets screwed again”... nor am I the only person that in essence has said “we need to bring the hammer down”...on the GTA. Somehow.
not now, not back in the spring..
In this or others.
Nor is that an uncommon sentiment “out there” in the press/world.
So if you “get it” and get all that..Then why the F is there an issue with me saying it?

This has got to be the biggest aspect of stupidity related to the lockdown. Reducing store hours and closing stores only results in larger amounts of contact between more people.
Dynacare has shut down many of its labs in Ottawa. Normally for a blood test, I can run in and get the test done in about 10 minutes and come in contact with no more than about 5 people in the waiting room. But now they've closed many of the clinics, so now for the same thing, I wait three hours and come into close contact with between 50 and 100 people all also waiting. So how are these "covid measures" helping.
Same think at the liquor store. Reduced hours. So now instead of being in the store with about 5 other people, it's double that.
In March, when they shut down every second cash at the Kanata can-tire for social distancing, the resulting lineup went half-way around the store. From where I was, I could count 72 people, but I couldn't see the whole line.
Apparently the people making these rules don't understand what end-result they are trying to achieve - less people in contact with each other.
It's a level of stupidity that is hard to comprehend.

Here we are in Ottawa - 18 hospitalisations, 0 ICU patients. And were getting locked down. FFS.

I have zero issue with you expressing your opinions, I might not agree with you on them but you should have your say.

The government is not encouraging greater numbers in less stores. They are telling everyone to stay home. Only go out for absolute necessities, essential travel only. What can the government do, if the citizens won't listen? Make it more difficult and time consuming so people wont say' I'm just going to pop out for a few things". Ask the people in line what was so essential, that they must go to the store, christmas presents? Look in their baskets I bet 95% of what was in there, is not essential to their lives, or worthy of a shopping trip during a lock down.
