Maybe the Federal and Provincial Politics section should be deleted. Would that bring back good outdoor discussions? I know ........ I agree with this.

I agree that taking the off topic and political threads out would be a good idea but the Conservative base on here believes they own this forum and no dissenting voices are allowed.

When I was not even allowed on both these sections because the administrator at the time and a moderator decided to lock me out, the Conservative base still came onto the hunting topic section constantly "baiting" on one topic or another.

So they got the response, just not the one they wished for.

The challenge then would be how do you stop them injecting politics into every thread on every section?

I see no point in trash talking about political leaders but its the old reap what you sow.

There are certain people on this forum who only post "hot button" threads meant to cause controversy and they can easily be spotted by just looking at the number of these posts and where they post.

Good one John and that is the way I see them mostly. Merry Christmas to you and the family.

20+ years on Bay St. Would anyone expect a car mechanic not to be into cars? I'm a news/economy Junkie. Not as much as I used to be, but there isn't a day I don't read news.

Gilroy, I recall a time, a life time ago, when there was no political forum and the off topic forum was pretty 'dead". In those days, things in Ontario were going off the rails. There were lots of complaints about politics creeping into the Hunting/Fishing forums, and lots of complaints about people always bashing McGuinty. I used to say back then, well maybe there'd be less bashing, if there were fewer scandals.......

Unlike car mechanics, politics affect our everyday, mundane lives. Everyday, 24/7 in a million ways. Just look around "today". Not a chance in hades, you could keep things out of those forums without another outlet for them.

OK SO SORRY TO HIJACK THIS THREAD BUT , JBEN THIS IS WHERE THE BIG QUESTION COMES IN FOR ME AND I HOPE YOU CAN ANSWER.

Let me say that I agree 100% with what you just wrote, if Liberals on this forum decided to just let "the base" have their way and sat back and made NO REPLIES ,the end result would probably be the same 12 guys posting the same thread's and they
all simply agree with each other every day? You guys good with that?

    I would weep for our future/children T.

The last place, I'd ever want to live is a world where we are all just mute bobbleheads.

Well I agree with you but things get a little heated at times, which I am OK with and other Liberals but the personal attack's need to end or I suspect it will just be the bobbleheads talking to each other.

I always never agree with Mosquito but we can post back and forth without personals insult's how come some folk's can't do the same.

I have no issues with Liberals and Conservatives alike sharing their opinions.

But, I'm sorry to say, emotional connection to these parties definitely gets in the way of a good conversation.
There's been many times I posted important data (such as the time I posted the Liberals carbon dioxide emission chart over the past 10 years, which shows the CO2 levels have been climbing since Trudeau's promise to curb the emissions by now) ... and then that data is simply ignored ... how do you have a conversation, when the other party simply refuses to acknowledge REAL data from THEIR OWN party??

So, it's at that stage it someone has a melt down ... and we resort to high school level communication (and sometimes even worse than that).
