Sometimes there are subjects such as BBQ's, chainsaws, generators, etc that really don't quite fit into the other main groups. Sometimes DIY doesn't fit hunting or fishing either, so I wouldn't get rid of Off Topic ...yet.

I post alot of attacks on the current gov't, sometimes I push, sometimes I ignore but I am sure some would probably want me to not speak on the lies or corruption that might enlighten someone about taking a moral position in regarding their vote or support. CBC for example is known for it's coverups and ignoring of things like Trudeau lying or spending huge amounts or the latest with the Chinese military training in Canada... do the moderators want to become censors that define the "correct think" attitude? Idiots on the road you avoid and ignore, even more easily done online. Jordan Peterson has over and over spoken on Political Correctness and free speech and the distortion of facts and has said very often that the search for truth requires multiple sources sometimes.
Here he is talking about an interview where the "journalist" was actually an advocate for censored speech.

Sorry, how I see it, bullies and trolls shouldn't be allowed Free Speech. IMO

Saw this once and kept a copy:
“The problem with today’s world is that everyone believes they have the right to express their opinion AND have others listen to it.
The correct statement of individual rights is that everyone has the right to an opinion, but crucially, that opinion can be roundly ignored and even made fun of, particularly if it is demonstrably nonsense!”

I watch and rear the off topic but do not comment on it.
I believe to make it better would be , let everyone comment only once on the topic (TOPIC) then there would be less bickering.
Just my thoughts.

So you don't like the Charter of Rights and Freedoms ... sad to see how many are like our current gov't. By the way what and who defines this "correct think" and speak definition that isn't already in the current rules?

Not a bad idea, maybe 3 or 5, it is when it gets into the back and forth insults and rants that seems to be where most of the contention is and it would force people to think more about their posts rather than the quick shot or insult back that is more about pride or attempt to insult.

Problem is we all have different views and opinions .
Others don't like it when you have a different opinion other than theirs.
Some think their own opinion is the only right answer lol. However they are mistaken and other opinions are welcome.
That's the reality .

You know you can't change a person without them wanting changes in themselves.
That's that this world is coming too so why we are trying to change the people is beyond me . You can try all you want to but it might not work.

There are a few great ideas posted here for the off topics forum. Everyone has opinions and they should be able to voice them without being a bully or making it personal. People on this outdoor forum are the people I want to give me their opinions about off topic ideas or thoughts I might have, because they supposedly have the same basic interests that I have.
I'm really not interested in having a person who spends all their spare time indoors putting stamps in a binder or knitting and crocheting giving opinions on topics they are not involved in. If I was I would be on sites that were geared towards those pastimes. This is just my opinion though, feel free to ignore it and have a Merry Christmas.
