Liberals fail Canadians; vaccine inoculations are pitifully slow.
A lot of Canadians have died and will continue to die because our sitting Government failed to manage this pandemic. Apparently throwing the piggy back at the problem was the correct response.
Every day, the online research publication Our World In Data releases information about vaccine doses being administered across the globe. And every day, one country emerges as a world leader: Israel.
For example, when the University of Oxford-based organization released its Jan. 1 data,
the total number of vaccination doses administered per 100 people for Canada was 0.26. For the U.S., it was 0.84. The United Kingdom: 1.47.
And for Israel it was 11.55, 44 times more than Canada.
Since the start of its vaccination campaign on Dec. 20, Israel has inoculated just over 11 per cent of its population — one million of its citizens — and aims to vaccinate a quarter of all Israelis by the end of the month. Canada, by comparison, will only receive about 2 million doses between January and March.
Nationally,
less than one-fifth of one per cent of the population – an estimated 56,845 people -- has been vaccinated, compared with the U.S., where about four times as many people per capita have received the shots,

Well I guess the people giving the shots weren't aware of this.
"I do have a severe allergy to bumblebees, and the nurse went over that with me and even questioned me about it, but ... it seemed like she really didn't know what she was doing," Tilli said.
Who is ready for their kids to line up for this?
I am guessing she won't be going for her second shot. How is this going to work for this vaccine passport governments are pushing? She can never get on a plane? COVID tests for the rest of her life if she wants to go anywhere? I am not sure anyone has really thought all this through.

Well you have to get an exemption letter to attend school if you are not inoculated with the standard vaccines right now, so there is something around that.

Just because you have potential for an allergic reaction, doesn't mean you can't get the vaccine...just means you have to let them know and have the EpiPen handy and a nurse to watch over you after the shot. The 'sever' allergic reaction they've seen so far are medically treatable.
Better advice from the CDC...wait to get the more traditional vaccine (ie NOT the mRNA vaccine)
If you have a severe allergic reaction to a COVID-19 vaccine
CDC has learned of reports that some people have experienced severe allergic reactions—also known as anaphylaxis—after getting a COVID-19 vaccine. As an example, an allergic reaction is considered severe when a person needs to be treated with epinephrine or EpiPen© or if they must go to the hospital.
If you have had a severe allergic reaction to any ingredient in an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, you should not get either of the currently available mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. If you had a severe allergic reaction after getting the first dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, CDC recommends that you should not get the second dose.
If you have a non-severe allergic reaction to a COVID-19 vaccine
CDC has also learned of reports that some people have experienced non-severe allergic reactions within 4 hours after getting vaccinated (known as immediate allergic reactions), such as hives, swelling, and wheezing (respiratory distress).
If you have had an immediate allergic reaction—even if it was not severe—to any ingredient in an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, CDC recommends that you should not get either of the currently available mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. If you had an immediate allergic reaction after getting the first dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, you should not get the second dose. Your doctor may refer you to a specialist in allergies and immunology to provide more care or advice.

A medical professional doctor would have weighed the risks versus benefits.
That's what happens when a product is rushed to market under "Emergency approval" pretences.
No liability on big Pharma.
What is in that vaccine that the body is rejecting?
This is far from just being a localised minor swelling of the injection site as is normally encountered with the seasonal influenza vaccination.
Many are reporting side effects such as fever, headaches, etc. after injection.
"The 32-year-old doctor is suffering from encephalomyelitis, an inflammation of the brain and spinal cord, according to the initial diagnosis.
Mexico's Health Secretariat noted that data from the clinical trials of the BNT162b2 vaccine did not mention any instance of a test subject's showing symptoms of encephalitis following an injection.
The patient, whose name was not disclosed, is being treated in the ICU of a public hospital in the northern state of Nuevo Leon, the secretariat said"

As expected that orchestrated PR stunt the Village Idiot did to garner a handfull of Vaccines before Christmas has come back to bite him in the azz. There was no follow up....nothing changed and Canada is at the bottom of the list to get the vaccines. Lots of backlash in the news this morning.
I heard that the success of Israel with 12% of the population already inoculated (vs Canada .07% ) is that they paid a premium to the producers to ensure early delivery. Canada ran around and spend far more money buying 214 Million dose from various companies.
Justin Trudeau’s government sought to assure the public it’s trying to speed up delivery of Covid-19 vaccines amid pressure from health authorities who say they’re running low on shots.
Canada has ordered more doses per capita than any other country -- reserving at least 214 million shots for 38 million people -- and was the second country after the U.K. to approve the vaccine from Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE. It has also authorized Moderna Inc.’s shot.
So far, Canada has vaccinated less than 0.7% of the population, compared to 1.9% in the U.S. and 2.2% in the U.K., and Israel 11.4 % according to Bloomberg’s vaccine tracker. Officials in a number of provinces, including Ontario Premier Doug Ford, have said they’ll be out of doses if more don’t arrive soon.
