Tax evasion would be charging my customer an 13% tax and not remitting it to the government. I am simply not charging tax. I only accept cash (as in paper money - no cheque or EMT) and only buy supplies and pay people using cash. I pay an obscene amount of tax for which I receive very little in return........very little.

I am not complaining about people working under the table, I actually think it is a great thing. Trading goods and services in kind is the foundation of modern day business. The way I see it the same people that are complaining about the underground economy are usually the same people that have nothing to offer and are on the outside looking in and are therefore just pi$$ing and moaning.

‘Hiding the money I make doing a profitable side hustle’ As the law is written should not all goods and services have a tax? Tax evasion? The way I see it is , people complaining about others people’s tax evasion while enjoying the benefits themselves. Call the ‘underground economy ‘ what it is...tax evasion.

My customers "under the law" must pay taxes for all goods and services. They can at any given time contact the CRA and tell them that someone did work for them and that they would like to pay their fair share of taxes on that service. I did some work for free and in return I was given a gift.

I am not sure what you would call it........pissing and moaning or sucking & blowing (at the same time), but whatever you call it, I think you are doing it right now.

Trades are in short supply and very high in demand and I do not see that changing anytime over the next 5-8 years thank you very much!! Daddy needs a new Harley baby!!

I laughed hard when I saw that video of the blonde. I generally don’t like to characterize to people unless using really broad brushstrokes but.......

I wonder, just how large and how loud the cacophony would be if JT decided the public should adult. Take responsibility for their choices. And rather than passing the buck off onto future generations, decided to immediately start paying for stuff.

Hike a bunch of taxes.
Bring in new revenue tools.
Cut public service wages
Claw back pensions
Etc.

A large component of soceity is skating through this. Not sacrificing squat........

And further, in all likelihood, it’s people within that component that are the problem children.

You know damn well if JT did that, and they should be doing it. Those that aren’t feeling a thing, would howl. It’s so unfair they would scream. And everyone would get on board right fast.
