Default What music is everyone listening to?

I have no trouble admitting I’m a sucker for 60’s music. I grew up listening to 1050 chum and oldies 1150. Great stations playing the greatest music. I’m only in my 30’s but I find that 60’s music resonates with me. It doesn’t matter if it’s rock and roll, Motown, ballads or country, just the sound is great. The lyrics are also awesome. Some are fun, some serious and deep, but they all have something in common, they are easy to follow.

Todays music I find is too harsh on the ears. Not all of it, but a good majority. I’ve listened to many genres of recent music and it lacks the “toe tap ability” of yesteryear. I wonder if today’s lyrics and songs will last the test of time.

The song writing abilities and instrument playing abilities of all artists is incredible. It just seems to me that today’s artists can get away with pushing a few buttons on a synthesizer and turn out tunes without so much as any training on any instrument. It’s a shame.

I’m rambling now. A few years ago the wife got me SiriusXM and it’s always locked on 60s on 6. I love listening to phlash Phelps.

I can’t imagine what it must of been like to live in that era with all that great music.

If I'm driving, mood sets the station for me. Most of the time I'm on XM Turbo, normal days are tuned to the highway or sometimes Bluegrass Junction. Every now and then I will lock 9n to the Canadian station but I can't recall the name of it now.

If I'm working at my desk, Delta Grunge 8s usually on.

If I'm doing the carpentry thing, Barry's Bay Moose FM offers an eclectic mix of pretty much everything.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

I'm dating myself but I'll hit the late 50's channel on SiriusXM and then the 60's for flash Phelps in the AM as well. But if the wife is with me then its straight to flash. Yeah, not too much good to say about todays racket they call music.
I listen for an hour or two every night to You Tube and pick whatever music I'm in the mood for. Might be anywhere from late 50's Rock & Roll to Soul to Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, Nana Mouskouri or even flip over to old country for awhile.

Anything from Bluegrass to Metallica, 60's to modern day. No "pop" though.

Good music in all genres, just have to look for it.

Little bit of everything can't keep listening to the same music the same songs over and over lol.

There is a little bit of good in all the music categories . Can enjoy everything from some Elvis to some hard core gangster music old school and new. I think my most dislike would be dance, classical, and screemo lol.

In the end most still reference the same issues or things in life just in a different way of saying it.
