Nothing like a pandemic to bring out the most nitpicking over politics and other off topic items. I’m probably not the only one that’s noticed how bored many of us are. So bored, in fact, that we find the off topic and political sections the most amusing. But wow some of you guys like to take this seriously. Chill out and have a drink.

    Thats all!

I just cracked a cold one, and watched Vassy kinda make O'Toole look silly on her show. He is going to have to do a lot better then that if he wants to be a party leader.
Sitting back now to watch the flaming begin.

Actually I have been posting quite often in the hunting and the guns threads.

Not picking on you in particular BurlyGirl, but as an example...you haven't started a threat outside of the Off Topic section since 24 Sept 2020...and you only started 5 threats in all of 2020. If people don't contribute, start threats, stimulate discussions, they really have no right to complain what others are doing in their spare time.

The forum is what it is. It's the dead of winter, with few outdoor activities going on, everyone in lockdown and a few guys are having a little fun bantering over politics etc.

Not much different that what goes on when we used to sit and Tim's with the guys and have a coffee.

If it offends, log out and find something else to do OR start a few threads in the other areas of the forum and stimulate some interest.

Mike, this falls under the “taking it to seriously” part. Just sayin.

I read a lot of threads in other forums. The problem is, there isn’t a lot to contribute by the time I read them.

    Politics.
Affect us everyday, even during good times. Which 2020, 2021 aren’t. And decisions being made in both Ottawa and QP. Are having huge consequences.

Whether it’s lockdowns, or the killing of Keystone, or vaccines. Or even line 5 which threatens severe fuel shortages for Ontario..

These are not small things, of no import

Agreed. But you can only beat a dead horse for so long. And more often than not the thread changes direction. I have no problem with any threads, political or not. Like I said we’re all looking for something to fill the void.

    True that.

“Nitpicking” which depending on the context I might refer to as “wee bones” certainly occurs. I guess the difference between a few hundred billion blown and Bev Odas $15 OJ expense....

You and I, I suspect are largely on the same page. I have a lot of disdain for them all. But if “we” don’t hold them accountable, who will.....There’s two ways to do that, one is with our votes, the other is the court of public opinion. Social Media.

When the electorate makes enough noise, they listen. Just look at how fast they reacted when a couple flew south for Christmas.

Problem is, at least here in Ontario the left sid of the electorate is silent........
    Apathetic.

    cause and effect.
or in the parlance of today’s woke society.

    Everything happens for a reason.
