If the gov't is making some $$ I don't mind. Something I'm in favour of, and believe should have been started long before now. In part to help pay for this or that, rather than future generations. As is, it's spend spend spend spend spend, throw it around willy nilly. A lot of tax payers, don't mind, or don't care because the buck is being passed into some "future". But also to help "encourage" people to get on board. Do their part. And imo, if you can't afford to pay or don't want to pay for an unwanted stay somewhere. Don't travel....
And yes, the fact the author tried to look at a few issues, ways in which we are lagging the world was one reason I posted it. No idea who the Lowy group in Australia is, or what metrics they are using, but that kind of ranking is appalling.

It's really unfortunate that every crisis in the past 25 years has become abysmally politicized to the point of paralyses, none so glaring as this. There has to be a lesson learned here about allowing politicians to play their silly games of mitigation, appeasement and childish finger-pointing. Meanwhile, politicians continue to virtue signal, posture in an attempt to convince everyone that only they know what's best. I,for one,am fed up to the teeth with having them piss on my leg and try to convince me it's raining.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Has too much time on their hands
What good are travel restrictions now a year later, after the fact?
I actually heard Trudeau is considering banning Covid-19. Considering how widely successful his firearms ban has been in the name of public safety, it really only makes sense with his voters to do the same with the virus. Win, win for liberals, sunny ways...

Might surprise you I was a Conservative voter for most of my life, right up until I joined this forum and realized I 'am not like these folks.

A very critical eye coupled with informed decisions from multiple sources has always worked for me,too.

The failure of this government continues. On the world stage, they have failed to protect Canadians for the continued ravages of the virus.
Headlines like this: "Canada drops to 33rd place for COVID-19 vaccinations globally"
On February 2nd, Canada was in 29th place for COVID-19 vaccinations globally.
One day later, Canada dropped four spots and currently sits at 33rd in the world for vaccine doses administered with a percentage of 2.6%.

33rd? I did a check on one web site that the 2.6% had us in 45th place.
Like it or not, we are a third world country in this respect.
As far as it being his greatest scandal - well we have a lot to choose from.
This isn't so much a scandal as plain and simple incompetence.
I think the WE charity and SNC Lavalin are bigger deals.
How about his covered up Caribbean trip over the New Years - and even more so - how does the LPC control the media that no one (other than Ezra Levant) mentions it.

And you actually believe what your being told? Just like passengers have been screened for the past year and have been required to isolate upon arrival...lol. if that were true how have all the variants from around the world have already made their way around our country.
I'm sure you would believe our borders are closed, your pm is making a fool out of his supporters. This is how closed our borders have been from the start a year ago. This is total failure of our federal government
