I think somebody needs to "get a life" rather than sitting and counting threads!

No counting required..it's at a glance in the stats.

The point is, it's disappointing how often we get members who rarely contribute or participate on the forum, come on every couple of months and criticize other members or complain how the forum is run.

I know I've never been rude enough to say to a stranger : "get a life"...seems to come easy for you. Not knowing a person's predicament could be quite a hurtful comment. Just saying.

Not picking on you in particular BurlyGirl, but as an example...you haven't started a threat outside of the Off Topic section since 24 Sept 2020...and you only started 5 threats in all of 2020. If people don't contribute, start threats, stimulate discussions, they really have no right to complain what others are doing in their spare time.

The forum is what it is. It's the dead of winter, with few outdoor activities going on, everyone in lockdown and a few guys are having a little fun bantering over politics etc.

Not much different that what goes on when we used to sit and Tim's with the guys and have a coffee.

If it offends, log out and find something else to do OR start a few threads in the other areas of the forum and stimulate some interest.

How am I doing Mike is my post count and variety OK.

Well then maybe you should reread BurlyGirl's response to your comment on her "lack of recent posts" .....

"Let's see.....my dad died suddenly, out of nowhere a few months back. My life got turned upside down. I'm sorting through a house full of items so we can determine what we will use and what needs rehoming. ..... So I work a full time, demanding job and on the side I'm doing renovations by myself because the man who I did them with is dead. So no, gosh darn it, now that you mention it....maybe I haven't started a thread lately ....."

Honestly people get a hold of yourselves. This threads purpose was meant to be light hearted. Really my intention was to get everyone to take a breath and relax. I mean geez man, we’re all bored but there’s no need for personal attacks. That’s not what our community of outdoors people is about. We all have the same passion and there’s no need to nit pick. When this is all done, and we’re back to a normal existence I propose an annual forum member get together (I can bbq like nobody’s business, lol). WE are an outdoor community and share common interests and goals. There is more that holds us together than divides. Just my two cents.
