Whitties and Lakers 2021

So this will be my big fish thread I will continue to update this thread with picks of whitties , trout and my meals lol.


Feb 3rd.

Got out for a few hours this morning was pretty windy did alot of walking but that's ok. First spot was good in the first 30 minutes missed 1 lost 1at the hole and got 1 top side. It slowed down a bit so I decided to go off on a journey walked another 1.5 km to another spot it was slow there too . Marked a few got 1 more top side and left by 11:30 for the long 3 km walk back lol.

In total around 6.5 km walk . Fished about 3 HR and walked the rest of the time .

Let the first fish go first thing in the morning kept the second one a nice skinny one for dinner .

It's getting there more ice than in parts of cooks bay that froze earlier. I was getting mixed holes today about 7 to 12 inches alot of pac ice perm huts are going out of JP and possibly willow. But only about 4 inches in parts of cooks. Yikes.

Last week we spudded another area was 2.5 and 5 inches for 2km then it was over a ft in the pac ice where we fished in places lol.

That snow definitely keeps it insulated and keeping it from freezing.

February 4th

Got out to another spot today I always move around next week I will head to a different area. Will be 4 trips out to 4 different locations.

Anyway went 5 for 7 today and missed a few more quick strikes or a slow reactions lol.

Think I marked a few trout I believe didn't get,any 4 of us out today was a tough day I think we only landed 12 fish by 130 ,2 of us left lol. The fishing completely died down after 11:30 went long times between marks.

The one fish had a little extra tail piece for more horsepower lol. Was a great day weather wise felt like a March day with a little less action . Until next week
