That is 100% on JT and Liberals. Seriously Gilroy, your trying to defend the indefensible.
Is it his fault companies retooled, or other countries are demanding production at home, go to their citizens? no
But how did anyone but an utter incompentent fool, not see that coming...Or at the least, the risk it could...Anyone with a brain, and even a grade schoolers understanding of risk....
Worded differently, and to use your own words other countries were at risk of the same. Yes?
Yet are vaccinating far more people, far faster. No?
The fact he has had to turn to that "food bank" speaks volumes...Yet stil you try to defend him on it. Are we not one of the richest countries?
No one put a gun to JTs head and forced him to crawl into bed with China. No-one put a gun to JTs head and forced him to sit and sit and sit and sit until August, long after the Chinese said "too bad sucker", you should have know better and before trying to do anything else.
You cant defend them on this.
And in the end, it's going to cost lives, jobs, homes and more. And in fact, if other countries are "back to normal" far faster...And their economies get going far faster...Who is going to buy squat from Canada, when we are far behind everyone else....which will prolong the "recovery" further..This isn't fantasy land and feel good grade school where kids get ribbons for showing up.

When you sign deals with other dictators, why would anybody trust them over any kind of deal?
The big question is why did trudeau make deals with China?
He has failed Canadians over vaccines, but then again some would say this is all part of trudeaus plans

I think your playing Monday morning quarter back. Who had a crystal ball and knew the Chinese were hiding the source of the virus, held back the genetic fingerprint for weeks, deceived the WHO and are still apparently deceiving them.
How would a Conservative Government have been any different, would they not have relied on China for PPE or vaccines, they had trade agreements with China in place all over the place.

Well if you think back to Feb and March. A lot of people here were saying "Can't trust anything coming out China".. By all means search the forums back in Feb, March and April.
Now, or on top of that. Factor in the fact, Canada/Chinese relations were tense to put as favorable light on that as we can. Why he was even negotiating that deal to begin with is very questionable. Would you give a hostage taker a sweat heart deal? Would you kiss their backsides?
But to then, rely solely on said deal, even under good terms/times would be foolhardy at best, negligent at worst because anyone should have foreseen the risk/chance that maybe th US would bully producers into giving them everything, maybe the EU would decide, hey our citizens come first...heck, I'm surprised a terrorist hasn't blown up a production facility, given things...The risk, that something could happen, and the "cost".......only a child can't see that risk.
And if all that isn't bad enough..
our dimwit, not only set the table for us to be screwed, given we don't have the manufacturing ability here. Didn't try to fast track that either. They sat, twiddling their thumbs like tweedle dee and dum until August after it all fell apart..
It is, indefensible

That would mean for the 800K confirmed cases there are close to 10 million people who recovered and have antibodies..unknown to the system.
The question you have to ask ...why does the government not want to know these numbers. They still want 'everyone' vaccinated by Sept when 50% of the population will already have the antibodies that the vaccine is suppose to activate.
remember: that PCR test only tests for an active virus...it will show a negative is you've recovered. It does not test for antibodies... that requires a blood test.

JBEN,
I hope you can acknowledge that President TRUMP who has no filters dumped Canada and Trudeau into a pile of chit over the Hauwei arrest.
At that point our relationships with China took the bad turn and we had the hostage taking.
Does China bully nations when it does not get its own way, yes they do and this is a fine example. So lets please assign some blame to other actors in this play.
At the end of the day Trudeau will be judged by the Canadian electorate in the upcoming election, we and we alone decide if he did right by Canadians and voters can decide if Mr O'Toole given the same set of circumstances would have performed better.

No one has asked the question...where did he get those vaccines before Christmas. What did he 'beg borrow or steal' from Pfizer to get them to cough up the hottest commodity on the planet just so he could pull of that ridiculous PR stunt in the house of commons.
Canada was never suppose to get the vaccine till the spring originally. Pfizer told the Village Idiot that back in Nov. Now he's lying to Canadians and blaming the company.

Gilroy, whether Trump put us in this position or not is immaterial, to what's happened with the vaccines.
Blame him all you like for that.
No one but JT decided to negotiate with China and only China and do nothing else until long after it fell apart. Which, is made wors4e by the fact, he did so, when he knew China was mad at him, and not to be trusted...Like Seriously Gilroy.
Your beginning to sound like a woman, that leaves her husband for a playboy, and then gets mad at the playboy when he dumps her for doing what he does. Cheat. And rather than taking responsibility for a poor choice and maybe knowing better............
