Leupold 3-9X40mm
Hello all,
what are your views on Leupold 3-9x40mm scope ? anyone using it ?
https://www.cabelas.ca/product/11099...om-rifle-scope
wanted to use for my Tikka t3x 0.27 win. as a all around rifle.
I thought I can get away with my older Scope, but they blur up and get foggy too much. time for a better one.

Leupolds are great scopes, just remember they have different lines, each with their own quality standard. You can't compare a VX-1 to a VX-3 of the same magnification.

I have a few of them on all types of rifles. I love them. Never any regrets with them.

Thank you all,
Was able to check it against a Vortex Diamondback 3.5-10x50mm
the Vortex looked and felt better, so I went with that one.

I have a VX freedom on one rifle. It’s as good as any VX2 I’ve owned clarity wise. The turrets are a bit mushy but it holds zero just fine. A VX3 or 3i has much more positive adjustments but are considerably more expensive.

I would have to agree. The Leupolds are good scopes but the Freedom is the old Riflemen and it is their entry level scope so it will have some corners cut to get the price point. Before you buy I would look at other brands (ex) Vortex, Bushnel and look at their mid level scopes.

I have a Leupold VX-R 3-9x40 on my Tikka T3 Hunter 270WSM. I really have no complaints about the setup, the scope is great, the red dot is very useful, especially if your game is dark and you hunt in low light conditions.
Leupold products are very good quality, lifetime warranty - can't beat that. The rings are also Leupold and I think it is important to have good rings for a solid setup.
