No Cable or DSL.
We use less than 500/month and have 25 down. It's enough for surfing and streaming (our needs). Faster is always better, but my thought is with the way R/E is going, that's the kind of thing buyers would want. So theres a chance, anyone that buys the hardware now, may need to again, if they foresee a move.

You will be able to move the hardware, right now you can't because it is being approved based on location for Testing and is locked to you. But yeah if you sold your house you could take it with you. In fact Starlink is going to test it on boats and planes. Technically you should be able to put it on your truck and drive out to the bush.

Your selling your house.
1 buyer wants a 120 day close, is offering $30k above ask, and wants a full inspection ( house, well, septic).
1 buyer wants a 60 day close, is offering $23k above ask, willing to waive house but wants well and septic inspections.
1 buyer wants a 60 day close, is offering $25 above ask, wants your starlink hardware and John Deere lawn mower, Willing to waive all inspections.

Yes you could transfer the hardware to them

Way back in 1982 I was on a tank firing range in Bergen-Hohne Germany. The Colonel needed an answer so he pulled out a small suitcase and handed a satellite phone to my boss so he could call Ottawa.
After the call he commented to the the Colonel that he had never heard such a crisp clear phone line. The Colonel said they actually had to had a bit of background 'clutter' noise because the users kept thinking the line had dropped because it was so quiet.
Yes they 'should' be able to be taken anywhere and used. That technology (ability) has been around a long time.

SAT Comms are already on planes. That's what they use to provide in-flight internet access.

Did they say what latency would be? In the past, latency was the issue with satellite service. Not sure if starlink fixed that?

Saw this on Wiki..
On 17 April 2020, in documentation to the FCC, SpaceX said lower altitude will put the satellites closer to Starlink consumers and allow the network "to provide low-latency broadband to unserved and underserved Americans that is on par with service previously only available in urban areas". The change will also improve service for U.S. government users in polar regions and allow for more rapid deployment of the network, SpaceX said. The lower orbits will help ensure the satellites re-enter the atmosphere in a shorter time in case of failure and will enable them to broadcast signals at reduced power levels, because they are closer to Earth, which SpaceX said will allow the fleet to be compliant with limits to reduce radio interference with other satellite and terrestrial wireless networks

A bit late to the party but I've been up to my eyeballs in renovations.
Thanks for posting this, if my plan works and I get to go the direction I want I will need something like this as my closest pole line will be 3km away, closest plug in internet service..... give or take 8km.
