MP.. I would think that if you are prejudiced or biased against someone solely because of their race, it would be racism. For those not living in the GTA, I would bet that mixed race couples are way more common than those that don’t live here , would believe. The ad companies ,and most of the market , are in areas with a good percentage of mixed race couples. The ads are directed at customer dynamics. If you say ‘you have nothing against black people, but ....I don’t want my son to marry one’, you are racist...

I don't agree that makes one "racist". It definitely makes one "opinionated" which everyone has a right to. It may even make one a "bigot" which still doesn't make one a "racist." I reserve the term "racist" to adherents of the KKK and white supremists wing nuts.

If you have preconceived notions ( usually bad ones), about individual people based solely on their ethnicity or colour, not personal experience with that person ,that could cross over the line into racism . If you don’t want your son to date someone, without meeting them ,based solely on the shade of their skin, yes that is racism not opinionated.

Again,I can't agree. That's not racist,it's stupidity and you can't fix stupid.

or is he just prejudice due to his inherent programming (Tribalism) ?
Note: be careful FC..unless you've studied sociology, this isn't as easy question to answer.

Any ill feeling towards another group or individual, based solely on ethnicity, religion, nationality, colour, or preconceived notions, and not personal interactions with the individual, is wrong. Are all white people David Duke? Are all races , judged by the lowest common denominator? If that is true , us whites have nothing to crow about.

Personal preference has absolutely nothing to do with being racist.
Go and tell women that they can't date men based on the look of their wallet and see how that goes over.
Ima duck now as I know the rocks are coming.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

So your telling me that because I would rather have my children marry someone of their own race I am racist - you couldn't be more wrong - I know that I am not a racist - I should know what I am - it isn't because I think poorly of some other race - am I a bigot because I would also like them to be of the same religion - which I think is even more important than race - 50 % of marriages end up in divorce - anything that would help strengthen a marriage is worth considering - tell me why would someone start dating a person of a different race in the first place - is there a shortage of people to date - I don't think so - then what about the children that can result from such a marriage - they don't know where they belong especially if they end up with features unlike those of the parents - with different races you also come up with different cultures - some being very foreign to one of the parties - marry your own kind and love everybody - remember that

My imaginary daughter falls in love with a Hindu man.
I am not thrilled about that.
Does that make me a racist? The fact I would prefer my daughter not marry into a culture where women are treated like chattel?.
That makes me a racist?
Same daughter falls in love with a bible thumping alt right white man with socially conservative views. I’m not thrilled. Am I a racist. Might want to think hard about this one.
