How is it any different than in the past, when the Mellon, Carnegie, Rockefeller , Rothschild , Vanderbilt families controlled the destiny of America and its citizen's. Energy , transportation, banking, information, were all under their control. Only a grandson of Rockefeller bothered to get elected. They controlled many government financial decisions, with their money. Their view was if it was good for them, it was good for the country. It is not new. Now we have Bezos, Soros, Walton, Gates, and Koch families. Different faces, same crap.

Better for who? The ultra rich have always worked hand in had with governments, of all parties. If you were to think that, the 'people' , make the rules and laws for the elite and their holdings, you would be sadly mistaken. Close the tax loopholes, would be all it would take.
