The hypocrisy of it all
According to statistics, the trade volume between China and Australia in 2019 was about $158 billion, while Australia’s trade surplus with China was close to $50 billion. Its exports to China were worth $103.90 billion, accounting for 38.2 percent of Australia’s total exports last year. Australia imported $55.07 billion from China, accounting for 25.8 percent of Australia’s total imports, an increase of 1.4 percentage points over the previous year. China remains Australia’s largest trading partner, largest export destination, and the largest source of imports.

Not sure why there's hypocrisy unless I missed something?
If anything, it just shows they have back bone, where JT doesn't doesn't. China obviously is a far more important trade partner to them, than China is to us. Yet, they are willing to take a stance on the topic. And they also specifically mentioned the 5 eyes and allies...

Maybe they should put their money where their mouth's are and not trade with the Chinese if they are so upset. But from my observations these two countries are some thing in common, both very racist.

Would you have Canada cut off all trade with the US? Because that is closer to the Auzzie/China situation. Would you have argued that by continuing trade with Trump, Liberals and JT were hypocrites? Why not today even. Their gun violence, poverty, etc, etc....Without the US, our backwater, bananna republic country would be in far, far worse shape than it already is.
That said, back when Trump slapped Tarrifs on Aluminum I was all for finding a back bone. And even gave JT and Freeland some credit.
Funny, they found enough back bone then, but against China?
Bottom line. The world and in particular our allies and seeing things. And they think we are a joke at best..
