CTC log splitter deal

I bought the same splitter last fall only I paid $1199 on sale so that’s an awesome deal. I’ve split about 4 bush chords with it so far and it works flawlessly. Split everything I threw at it.
So far the Champion engine works great, starts first or second pull every time. Just make sure you shut the gas flow off and run the gas out of it when you’re done. I only use Shell premium non ethanol gas in all my small engines.

Make sure to pile the wood really good and straight and not near a car

I had my son in a cherry picker top off a huge poplar last summer that proceeded to fall and wipe out my wood shed.
Same sort of boat as you...lol

Good buy. I bought a homemade 25 ton unit for not much less $ a few years ago. It works, but I sure wish it would go vertical like these do. That said, I still use a splitting axe (axe, not maul) for 90% of my wood since it's all easy splitting ash right now

If you're a bit handy, I discovered I needed a wider shelf on either side of the splitter for large logs. So I modified them by adding a fiberglass extension the frame. I work mostly by myself so one hand is on the lever and with only one hand free to work the log, the extra support comes in handy...and is safer.

Ohhhh this is a nice machine. The engine started on the first half pull right out of the crate.
Highly recommend at the current sale price.

I hope you had some help uncrating it. I just about killed myself trying to move the main beam around.
I had a huge poplar (about 36” diameter) come down at my cottage and it had some pretty knarly grain that twisted in circles. This splitter went right through it. My biggest issue was maneuvering the logs in position under the wedge.
