We once ran into a strange group of people while camping.

It always pays to be cautious, especially, when in out-of-way places with people you don't know. Truck pull-ins and rest stops on northern highways can be particularly problematic for transients (crooks and stoners with no fixed address types or criminals on the lam) waiting for easy victims like vacationing families or truckers needing to take their mandatory rest breaks. We used to patrol these on a regular basis and caught some real bad actors over the years.

First thing - you don't get drunk and all stoned when your out in the woods like that - second you don't trust any strangers because you don't really know who they are - third if a guy like Bond came into my camp and cut someone's throat he be dead - no need for a trial - when I go fishing or camping I'm always armed - usually carry 2 pistols just in case one is taken away from me - I have a 38 Special revolver strapped to my hip and a small 25 caliber in my pocket - that's one thing that brothers me when I go fishing up into Canada I can't have a weapon to protect myself - I have to rely on bear spray

Totally agree with you Joepa, but in Canada the Liberal government has actually stated in the past that firearms are not to be used to save your or anyone life. The Liberal mantra is you should allow yourself to be rape or killed.

was at a highschool party back when i was in highschool, 2 guys threw a bottle at the guys house we were at. one of my buddies went out to see what happened and confronted the 2 guys asking if they seen someone throw something at the house and break a window, one of the guys reached out and what looked nothing more like a slap to my buddies face ended up being a razor blade he was holding which slices right above his jaw, face split open like butter. stuff happens all the time. most of the time doesn't hit the news. in his case it didnt get any media attention and the guy wasnt even charged with anything, instead ended up having to pay a fine. doctors told him 2 inches lower and he would have been dead on the spot.

sorry i re read that, sounded stupid when i re read it lol. i dont think the guy did any jail time, nor paid a fine. my friend did get money from the situation as far i know but not form the offender. i could be wrong point is this stuff happens everywhere! always be carful

I was a bit surprised that only one was charged.

I know some people on that lake, as you might imagine there was a heavy police response but no details really came out till now
