Advise for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Coyote Hunting tactics

Hey guys, most of the time I spent here lurking and reading some of the hunts you've done.
Even though having a 6 year hunting license without catching a break (seriously! I hadn't shot or killed anything with a shotgun, rifle or bow), mostly due to work, time, commitment and etc... Scouting is becoming a challenge with a 2 year old on days off.

I try to get out as much I can. I would like to bag a coyote at least once or more if possible. Before I got married I had the equipment for predator calls;

- Primos Dogg Catcher E-caller
- Primos Motion Predator Decoys - Sit'N Spin Crazy Critter

I went to Scugog Island Crown Land and I scouted there a week before; seeing fresh tracks and so on.

I got there at 3pm (I know, too late or too early), did the set up and waited for 15 minutes and then started to make calls. Cottontail, baby jackrabbit, jackrabbit and then adult coyote calls. Interval at 1 minute apart. Then at some point I freaking heard on my right yipping.

In my head "where the hell is it?" I'm deaf on left side, and severe hearing impaired on my right. I can't distinguish direction or source of sounds at all. I'm thinking, "it can't be behind me, it would smell me."

Made a couple of calls and then the sound was gone. Its frustrating. My hunting partner is my dad which gets Saturday, Sundays off while I work for Bell as a Field Tech so I only get only Tue-Wed-Thur combo days off.

Have you tried the electronic muffs?
I am on my 5th set of hearing aids, and have been using those muffs for hunting the last 15 years.
With 2 mics in each muff I can pinpoint the exact direction any sound (e.g., turkey gobbling) is coming from, and how far away - without the muffs I cant hear ANY gobbles at all!

oh, that's something I wasn't aware of its existence? can you specify your brand/product name so I can do research in general as an example. I will need something for left ear (without hearing aid) which is at 95db loss and right ear (hearing aid) at 75db loss.

i believe these are kinda the same thing but ear plugs instead of muffs

ive never used them, or know aboutt hat website at all, so take my advice with a grain of salt

Peavy Mart (formerly TSC) has them listed at least twice a month in camo in their email flyers for $49.
You get inundated w daily e- ads if u sign up, but they do offer hunting gear, including these muffs.
Also Cabelas periodically has sales on them, and CTC usually lists them on sale at least 2-3 times a year.
i use them OVER top of my hearing aids! They have the interrupter circuitry that shuts off sounds over 85 decibels, so protects your hearing from gunshots.

So I had order these Walker Razor Slime E-Muffs. The problem? it crushes my BTE (Behind The Ear) Hearing Aid between the muffs and bone, very unpleasant experience.... unfortunately I'm out of luck. The in-the-ear hearing aids are too weak for my hearing loss.

Looks like I will have to research out more. Back to Amazon Prime.
