Spring Deer Count.

Might be the odd doe that was bred in early October that could have a fawn drop around now, but the main rut in the first 2 weeks of November lines up with a gestation period ending around the first week of June which is when the majority are born. From what I understand, some of the smaller fawns seen in the rifle hunt can be a result of young does not getting bred or going into heat for the first time in early December, resulting in a late June or early July birth. This could happen for a variety of reasons including doe age, maybe a buck shooting blanks, or a lack of bucks in an area with a large doe population.

I haven't seen any fawns yet, getting a little concerned, but if I remember correctly, they didn't show up till later in the spring.

I haven't set up for a count out back yet, that's where they usually yard up. Still to much water on the trails to get back there.

Too early yet for fawns. Gotta remember we are having an early spring this year. Fawns will be there in another month or so.
