    Default turkey action ramping up

Starting to see more movement when checking properties the last couple days. 2 lone toms yesterday in the field at 2pm looking for love. Today a decent group of 3 toms and 8 hens(1 bearded) I was only able to get pics of the hen and the smaller male, not of the 2 bigger ones

I was out putting up blinds on Sunday, got to one blind location and saw a colorful bird so I stopped and watched for a minute because I figured it had seen me. After a few seconds I was able to make out the little beard. It's always been a good spot for jakes. This was around 1 in the afternoon, it'll be a good afternoon spot. I shot a Tom there once at 6:55 pm but have never had the comfortable blind option in this spot.

Looks like I'll be off work again too, I'm staying home with the kids once again. Almost a year to the day that I left work last year. Shouldn't have any excuses...

All the birds I have seen so far are still in big flocks which tells me it is not time yet, but that's just in my area. Plus I am not seeing as many birds the last few years.
Hope everyone has a successful and safe turkey season

That's good for you, but might play havoc on your turkey season! Get out when you can, congrats on the job!
