Turkeys do it on purpose. Last year before the season I saw all kinds of them. When the season was open not so much. I did get one eventually.

Think that's bad? I spent the entirety of last season watching huge Toms on neighbouring properties I couldn't hunt. Meanwhile I was getting swamped on all of the ones I was hunting, I'd have better luck hunting in a parking lot... OH and everywhere I went I saw Toms from the road. Also it didn't help I'd wake up every morning to gobbles from a golf course I live nearby. Turkeys quite literally infested every inch of the world except where I was allowed to hunt...

Caught a glimpse of the Tom today on the side of the hill. Guess the weather didn't agree with him hunch over just pecking at the ground

The biggest tom I've ever seen (fat as hell, biggest in my lifetime) lives in a closed down golfcourse RIGHT beside my apartment too. I have to listen to him gobbling while getting ready for my morning hunt where I will see and hear absolutely nothing for the 100th time lol.
