I went looking Saturday, found none at my usual spots. Ramps look great this year though. I was tempted to get some, but waiting til next weekend when the bulbs are hopefully bigger. I think we need one solid week of warm weather for the shrooms...

I bought some dried ones, they are supposed to work.... sometimes... but as I've mentioned before if you have any that are bad after you get them home... might be worth a try. I did one batch and will do the next today, I have the minnow aerator there and am charging some AA's right now. As a side note, 2 AAs in a D cell adapter will run continuous about 6 or 8 hour + in the aerator. I should see if it works.... next year... or the year after ... or it didn't ... so if you have any go bad it might be worth a try. Seemed to work for him. I checked the wine caps I put in last fall and I see alot of mycelium so I should have them in a month likely.

I did a search last weekend and only found red morels. Should be real soon if we get some decent weather.

Funny mushroom story: found a giant white puffball the size of a small basketball in my swamp. Brought it home to show the kids and told them it was a real dinosaur egg. My son was about 6 and my daughter was 9. Had them going for awhile. We ended up eating part of it. Fried in butter and salt and pepper it was not too bad. The kids still laught about that - I wish I had a picture of my son's face. He was pretty excited that he might have had a pet dinosaur.

I was out today in the rain checking a few spots. I didn’t find any. It can’t be too far off now.

Found a couple in the front yard this week. Actively looking for more with limited success.
