Double To End the season
We got at our location at 5am and were set up at 5:20. Had some distant gobbles coming from 2 locations and I’m teaching the new hunter about calling. Once legal shooting time comes the gobbler comes out to play. I was so happy he got to experience at least some action. But as fast as it started it ended, a real hen flew down from the roost and took the Tom away. After an hour of quiet we decided to move because the sun was in our face, we needed to hide in the shadows. I did some calling and I hear a double gobble. I think there’s two the new hunter says and I agree. A couple more calls and the gobblers are getting closer somewhere in the forest. I tell my buddy I think they are going to pop out soon and before our eyes two Toms come out and b-line it to our setup. I tell my friend on 3 and we drop them both. Nothing better then finishing the season and getting a double with a new hunter. Sucks that my season is over but I’m still in the game and now designated as a camera man lol good luck to everyone and take someone new hunting.
