As for the topic... India's huge population is really sending numbers off the chart! It is a human disaster just based on the numbers.

The variants, easier spread (20 to 50% easier) and faster "behaviour has changed", reinfections is a real possibility

What high numbers? The ones from the PCR testing in which the WHO is warning about as being utilized in an inappropriate way?
Is that the numbers you are referring?....lol

What Gilly is trying to say, is that he has reported you to Aleisha, or whatever her name is? He has done this to me several times, but hey Gilly, I'm still here! Old gilly is a sneaky rascal. The old adage of "get a life" comes to mind?

Do we need to redefine the word "overwhelmed" in 2021?

    https://globalnews.ca/news/7836917/n...hird-wave/amp/

There are 9 people in ICU in Nova Scotia and 40 total hospitalizations. Apparently that puts the Nova Scotia healthcare system on the "brink of being overwhelmed".

Not overwhelmed=no overtime-no extra government support-no"we are special" approach -no news worthy topic-no income for newspapers....1000 reasons to say(and believe)they are overwhelmed.

The other night there was an article in the local paper about opiod overdoses here in Peterborough. It was only really talking about the uptick this year.

Since the pandemic began, we've had a total of 14 covid-related deaths in Peterborough. There have been 53 fatal opioid overdoses in the same period of time

I posted not long ago ICU filled and hospitals overwhelmed for year's .

For the last 10 years except 2015 I couldn't find anything posted 5 or 6 years of overwhelmed hospital's. . Even in 2018 critical medical care delayed because of the flu. Nothing new at being overwhelmed.
