The Village Idiot throws Kayti under the Buss
Interesting to watch the Liberals squirming. The Village idiot got caught in lie. So Kayti comes forward and jumps on the sword. The Cons call for her resignation and instead of the Idiot coming forward and admitting he lied to save her career, he makes some back room deal with the NDP so they won't support the motion.
So much for being a feminist..again.
Opposition parties rejected a call from Conservatives for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to fire his chief of staff over the handling of a complaint against Canada’s former top soldier.
The Tories’ motion called for Katie Telford to lose her job after a committee heard from a former Trudeau adviser suggesting that in 2018 she knew of a sexual misconduct complaint involving former defence chief Jonathan Vance.
Trudeau has defended Telford by saying no one in his office knew the issue was of a “Me Too” nature.
The Conservatives contend that is not true and say if Telford failed to tell her boss about the complaint she should be dismissed.
Their motion was defeated by a vote in House of Commons of 209 to 122.
The NDP has said while it wants to hear Telford testify about what she knew of the Vance complaint, it believes it was the responsibility of Trudeau and his defence minister to take action, not an unelected staffer.

update:
Katie Telford agrees to appear at defence committee probing military sexual misconduct
It would be nice to see Pierre go after her HaHa.
Telford is the most senior political staffer and a key confidante to Trudeau.
The prime minister defended her last week amid calls for her to be fired, saying that she is the reason the current government calls itself a “feminist” one.
The Conservatives also led a push to have Telford fired, which ultimately failed when most MPs voted against the motion in the House of Commons.
During the debate on the motion, the Conservatives repeatedly implied that Telford may have been taking the fall for the prime minister.

You know that she will have been thoroughly coached as to what she can say, and what she can't. Likely why it took some time for her to agree to appear.

She only read prepared statements and dodged any questions that would admit wrong doing
So, despite her hand-wringing about being a feminist and wondering whether she should have pushed harder to implement the 2015 Deschamps report into the “sexualized culture” in the military, nothing was done. The nature of the complaint remained a mystery, although she says she was assured it was not a safety issue. That sounds like a case of willful ignorance, where lack of knowledge meant avoiding having to make an unpalatable decision, such as tell the prime minister.
