Fisher Hunting

I placed a bird suet ball into a hole in an old log to see what would come by for a meal.

My wife treed one the other day while gardening. She happened to just walk up to it.
Timing is everything. She told me about it when she got back to the house. I went looking with a camera but never found it.
Probably the reason why my pine bush is devoid of small creatures.
Very efficient predator.

Fishers are nasty little critters but because they are one of the few predators that will take porcupines they are always welcome in our bush lot.
