My second successful bear hunt

It only consists of two evenings and alot of lugging. Took nearly a week to see any activity and it was nights only. A large bear started camping my site all night to early morning. Few smaller bears started showing and a mother with two cubs. I can't keep my barrels full more than three days so I decided to hunt. My first sit I only have a small bear come in and eat. Hes very nervous having a few nibbles before doing a good look/walk around. I'm thinking well this looks promising but nothing comes of it. He eventually catches my movement and takes off.
Ashley and I go out to bait on Wednesday after work. I notice whole corn has been place on the ground 10 yards from my stand. I'd guess a whole 25kg bag worth as it covered a decent area. I check my cam but whomever did this knew not to walk there. Now I'm totally pissed that we have a stand pirate! I understand crownland we have no control over our stands or barrels. Like.....WTF? Another near by hunter trying to up his odds or just some lazy who can't be bothered to pay or bait themselves. I was thankful this person didn't damage anything but was not pleased.

Friday after work I head back out to hunt and hope I don't run into this jack. Thankfully it doesn't appear he has returned. The hunt starts out well with the small bear coming about 25 minutes after I'm in stand. I watched him for a longgggg time I even had a smoke while he was eating. He did his usual nervous walk about checking both trails leading to the bait every minute or so. This time he stopped for a while scanning the forest and sniffing the wind. His ears perked up real high and he bolts. I grab my bow from the hanger but don't have enough time to get into a comfortable draw position. The bigger bear is already on the bait he didn't even bother to sniff around. He laying on his belly stuffing his face with popcorn. I try to draw my bow but can't in this position. I wait for the boar to grab another mouth full. Figured if I can hear him eating from here it should cover any noise I might make. Now I'm able to draw on him with perfect broadside. I released the arrow and it looked good but felt even better. He got up ran maybe 25 feet and stops... he continue to walk maybe 30 yards where he crashed over. It was my first time hearing the death moan and I couldn't of been happier.
No weight or measurements on him but he's a beautiful mature boar.
My best guess with the struggle it was to move him 200+lbs. If it wasn't for help and an atv I'd still be out there.....

I've had the same happen on public land when baiting for deer. It's frustrating but like you said, there isn't much you can do.

In our case we left a note suggesting they bring some bait in considering they were coming in to hunt our stands by snowmobile and we were bringing it in by snowshoe. They never did bring any bait but we did find a gut pile.
