Liberals don't want an election right now because the "botched" list is twenty feet long. If an election was called today, they have to know they couldn't get elected dog catcher. The CPC doesn't want an election right now because they know this country is completely destroyed and it would turn to them to fix it.....which they can't by any stretch and they have to know that, too. So,here we sit,a "failed state" completely bankrupt with a sychophantic "paid off" main stream media trying to convince Canadians that "The Great Jesus Justin" is the greatest thing since sliced bread and don't worry,be happy. Nothing to see, here, move along. We are S-O-O-O-O screwed.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

The Village idiot isn't polling high enough and as long as the NDP are willing to bargain their wish list to support the Libs, then we are going to be with them for a awhile.
Which like you say, and I have mention, the CPC really don't want to inherit this mess...there are some tough times ahead, so best to let the blame fall where it belongs.

Elections have not been "suspended indefinitely." A Parliamentary motion does not override the Canada Elections Act which requires an election be held by a certain date.
https://laws.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/....html#h-204214
Date of General Election
Powers of Governor General preserved
56.1 (1) Nothing in this section affects the powers of the Governor General, including the power to dissolve Parliament at the Governor General’s discretion.
Election dates
(2) Subject to subsection (1), each general election must be held on the third Monday of October in the fourth calendar year following polling day for the last general election, with the first general election after this section comes into force being held on Monday, October 19, 2009.
Therefore election day in Canada can be no later than October 16, 2023.
The purpose of the Parliamentary motion was to limit Trudeau's options should he attempt to lose a confidence motion and ask the Governor General to call a snap election.

That's funny! Just curious who is our Governor General? I guess the liberals voted unanimously to stop themselves from calling an election then?

The bill will only apply to an election being held while the pandemic continues to rage.
And the Village Idiot will shut down the 'Pandemic' and the 'Emergency Health Crisis' come Sept.... when the majority of Canadians will have been vaccinated. So this bill is really nonsense...no one want's an election, especially the Liberals, during the summer months.
It's political gamesmanship by all parties to set themselves up for the inevitable Election once everyone is 'safe' again HaHa

I don't think the people understand the cost to reshape the economy and their agenda goals.

It's not a bill. It's a motion. A bill once passed becomes a law. A motion is little more than consensus on a specific matter with no legal authority.
